REVIEW from Kimota 9 This encyclopaedia of Star Trek episodes is a pleasant surprise. It can actually be used as a reference book! The episodes of all Star Trek series (including the animated series) are listed in alphabetical order. At the back of the book, though, are various categories that cross-refer to the episodes. This is very useful for the Trek researcher, as not only is the title listed under the series, but special character listings like all the Mudd episodes, Q, Tribbles etc. Very useful for those annoying times when you just can’t name the episode but you know who was in it. It must be said that this book is compiled by Trekkies, but then again how could it be otherwise. Each episode is reviewed and rated by a star system… twice. Once by each of the authors. This should give a balance to the thing but the scoring is very similar in all but a handful of instances. It is interesting to see the two different ideas about the same programme, but it is even more interesting to see the rare occasions when they disagree. As a reference book of all the episodes of Star Trek and the spin off series it is extremely good and cross-references well, whether you’ll agree with the reviews, well, you’ll have to get it to see.
