REVIEW
This book is more like a gigantic magazine, full to bursting with a variety of articles cavorting round the central theme of Exploitation movies. These diverse articles range from interviews with directors like Massimo Pupillo director of such films as Terror Creatures from the Grave to Ramsey Campbell enlightening the reader to films with a spanking theme (like School-girl Fannies on Fire!). Kim Newman has two themes, firstly on how McCarthyism infiltrated all fifties films, especially SF ones, and again examining the cult film The Presidents Analyst. Necrophillia, American Porno Theatres, Traci Lords, Freaks, Propaganda and Blood On Satan's Claw are just some of the other areas of exploitation examined in depth.
This is a wonderful read illustrated by some amazingly tasteless stills, but is it worth £12.99? You bet it is.
